Terms

Last updated 12 October 2026. Plain words, kept short on purpose.

1. Who we are

Old Friend is provided by Jakub Such Consulting, a company registered in Poland ("we", "us"). You can reach us through the contact form or by replying to any email we send.

2. What Old Friend is

Old Friend is a daily email: one idea from a book, thinker or tradition, told in our own words, with its source and one small thing to try that day. You can answer each card with one tap and, if you like, keep a short note for yourself.

Old Friend is a fictional character written by a person with the help of AI, as described onHow Old Friend is made. The cards are reflections, not professional advice. They are not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice and are no substitute for it. If you are struggling, please talk to someone who can help in person. In Poland you can call 116 123 (adults) or 116 111 (young people); in an emergency, call 112.

3. Signing up

4. What it costs

Old Friend is free while we are testing it. If we introduce a paid plan later, we will publish its price and terms on this page and email you first. You will only ever be charged if you actively choose a paid plan; nothing switches to paid on its own.

5. Your notes and answers

What you write is yours. We use it only to run Old Friend for you, such as showing your own notes back to you later, and never sell or share it. You can export or delete it at any time. Details are in theprivacy policy.

Please don't use the notes or the contact form to send anything unlawful, abusive or meant to harm others.

6. Our cards

The cards are our writing and are protected by copyright. You are welcome to read, print and share a single card with a friend, as long as it stays whole and keeps the Old Friend name on it. Please don't republish cards in bulk or use them to build another product. The ideas themselves belong to their original authors, which is why every card names its source.

7. Stopping

8. If something goes wrong

We do our best to send a card every morning, but email can be delayed or lost, and we can't promise that Old Friend will always be available. As long as the service is free, we are responsible only to the extent the law requires. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer.

If you have a complaint, send it through the contact form and say what happened. We will answer within 14 days.

9. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will email you at least 14 days before the change takes effect. If you don't agree, you can stop before then.

10. Law

These terms are governed by Polish law. If you live elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of the consumer laws of your own country, and you can bring a dispute before the courts where you live.
